What we store

• Your link: the question you picked, the first name you typed if you typed one, when it was made.
• Answers: the text friends send to your link and when. We never store who sent them.
• Rate limits: a scrambled code made from the IP address with a secret that changes every day. It stops floods and spam, can't be turned back into the IP, and is deleted after 7 days.
• Counts: numbers of links made, answers sent, cards shared and similar actions, without any of the text.
• Your private key: kept in your own browser storage, and stored by us only in scrambled form.

Who processes it

• Cloudflare hosts the site and the database.
• Google (Gemini API) receives the text of each answer to check it against the rules, and the answers of an inbox when its owner unlocks the Ex Report. It never receives the IP address or who owns the link.
• Lemon Squeezy handles payments for the Ex Report as merchant of record. Card details go to them, never to us; we only receive the confirmation that the report was paid.

How long

You can delete your link and every answer at any time from your inbox. Links with no activity for 180 days are deleted with their answers. Answers you hide stay stored, out of sight, until the link is deleted, so reports can be checked.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about your link, or for its deletion, at hello@describeyourex.com. Because there are no accounts, we will ask you to prove the link is yours: your private link does.

Adults only

describeyourex is for people aged 18 and over. If you think a minor is using it, tell us and we will remove the link.
